Rey Mysterio has always been well-known for wearing some incredible outfits throughout his career. He has always looked the part, with tremendous masks that are full of character and color.
Of course, much like every other WWE Superstar, the Master of the 619 has always gone above and beyond when it comes to WrestleMania. With this being the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All,' everyone is always out to impress.
Rey Mysterio has come out with some incredibly detailed outfits over the course of his WrestleMania career, many of which have been incredibly memorable. In this list, we will rank all of his WrestleMania outfits from worst to best.
8 WrestleMania 20
Rey Mysterio has wrestled as many different comic book characters throughout his career, and at WrestleMania 20, he opted to appear as a version of The Flash. It was certainly a unique look and one that caught the attention of the fans, but it wasn't one of his best from WrestleMania.
The shiny, gloss style aspect of the outfit doesn't really work, with the sleeveless look not seeming to quite connect either. It's a solid outfit that uses a popular character, but it just doesn't compare to others from his career.
However, picking The Flash as inspiration is certainly a wise move considering the fact that speed and agility have always been his biggest selling points.
7 WrestleMania 22
This was Rey Mysterio's big WrestleMania moment, competing for the World Heavyweight Championship, but sadly it didn't provide his greatest outfit. The look was based around Aztec, having a huge headpiece styled to a bird.
The headpiece was actually a superb look for Mysterio, and a ton of detail was clearly put into it. However, this is one look that has divided many fans over the years, with some loving it and others not.
The rest of his look didn't really stand out though, with his pants not feeling particularly special or unique. It was a slick look, as expected, but it wasn't quite as memorable as others from his career.
6 WrestleMania 26
At WrestleMania 26, Rey Mysterio went one on one with CM Punk in what was a brilliant match. For this particular year, Mysterio opted to appear as a Na'vi, from the popular movie, Avatar.
It was a totally blue look, as you would expect, and even featured the ponytails that the characters have in the movie, which was authentic. However, the added tinges of orange all over his gear didn't quite work.
This might have worked better with a full bodysuit, which Mysterio has adopted in later years, but it was still a memorable look overall.
5 WrestleMania 19
Rey Mysterio's WrestleMania match with Matt Hardy was a really quick sprint that brought the best out of both men, and for this match, Mysterio cosplayed as the popular character, Daredevil.
It's an outfit that has a lot going for him and a lot that doesn't quite work either. For instance, the horns on the mask and the subtle jewels are really great to look at and help connect the character.
However, having everything as one block, the dark color might not have been the best move. Had there been something else alongside it, things might have improved, and the half mask just feels odd, and not what fans expect from him.
4 WrestleMania 21
There's a lot to like about Rey Mysterio's WrestleMania 21 ring gear. It might not have been a cosplay of a comic book character or a famous movie, but it was just tremendous ring gear that looked great.
While the mask gave him constant problems throughout his match with Eddie Guerrero, that didn't take away from how great he looked. Paying tribute to his heritage was a nice touch from Rey, which was subtle, but classy.
The back of the outfit was particularly impressive, with a detailed spine system being put all over his back, which looked awesome.
3 WrestleMania 25
Rey Mysterio has cosplayed the Joker multiple occasions, one as recently as his Survivor Series match against Brock Lesnar. However, out of the two, his WrestleMania 25 look was slightly better.
Taking his inspiration from The Dark Knight movie, Rey Mysterio brought a darker edge to his look. Starting out with a huge purple coat to then unveil the green straps, it was a very detailed outfit.
His mask was superb as well, having the traditional scar across the smile, utilizing both face paint and his actual mask. It might have just been a short match with JBL, but his look was an unforgettable one.
2 WrestleMania 27
Rey Mysterio has always been the ultimate good guy throughout his wrestling career, which is why him appearing as Captain America was a perfect look for him. He is the ultimate superhero who always aims to do the right thing, which suited Mysterio as a talent.
Mysterio has utilized the comic book world multiple times throughout his career, and this Captain America cosplay remains one of his best. Using the mask as Captain America's helmet and mask that he has used in the past, everything just worked perfectly.
His match with Cody Rhodes was terrific, which certainly helped this particular outfit become even more memorable, with fans still talking about this one.
1 WrestleMania 35
Out of all his WrestleMania outfits, there is no doubt that the best came in his most recent appearance against Samoa Joe. While the match was a squash that saw Rey Mysterio be beaten in just minutes, he at least looked incredible doing so.
Once again, the Master of 619 tapped into the comic book world, and this time, he did so by dressing as a villain. While that might seem like an odd decision for his character, when you consider that the character he chose was Mysterio, the Spider-Man villain, it all makes total sense.
The WWE legend put some amazing detail into this outfit, and it really did look absolutely incredible. Everything about the outfit was spot on, from the cape to the mask and the full bodysuit, it is going to be a tough one for him to ever top.
